Tyler Hubbard’s At-Home Dance Parties Inspired New Hit “Dancin’ In The Country.”
Since embarking on a new chapter as a solo artist, Tyler Hubbard is set on going full speed ahead. Hubbard's new project, Dancin’ In The Country is proof.
Best known as one half of the country music duo, Florida Georgia Line, Hubbard took the leap and began releasing music on his own earlier this year, while his duo partner Brian Kelley did the same. This week, Hubbard shared his first EP as a solo artist and country superstar Keith Urban had a hand in writing the title track.
With a driving beat and quick banjo-picking accompanying him, the tune finds Hubbard throwing a dance party in the country with a love interest. The song features clever lyrics with references to the country life, and the contagious beat is enough to make listeners throw their own dance parties.
To accompany the upbeat tune, the music video for Dancin’ In The Country was inspired by pandemic driven dance parties while Tyler was off the road. Dance teacher and the video choreographer Lauren Williamson got to take part this these parties first hand.
“Tyler and Hayley started taking lessons with me in the spring of 2021. We were doing lessons consistently through the summer and we had a dance intensive week in January which was so much fun. We got to dance for a few hours every day that week, and I really feel like I was able to see so much improvement! Not only from when they first started, but also over the course of the week, I saw improvement day to day which was so rewarding. Tyler and Hayley told me about their nightly family dance parties and I absolutely love that! I like to say that dance is just a visual representation of music in motion, so I think that speaks to how much music is a part of their household! Growing up, my family was known to push the furniture back and have dance parties, so I also feel like that was a point of connection we had early on.”
A well known family man who pulls much inspiration from his wife Hailey and three kids, Hubbard knew where to pull inspiration from when it came to the video.
“I knew when I was going to make a video for “Dancin’ In The Country” that we had to have Lauren choreograph it. We met Lauren during the pandemic, when Hayley and I were looking to try something fun and different, so we took some hip-hop dance classes with Lauren. She’s an amazing dancer and choreographer and we had an incredible time learning from her. When it came time to actually shoot the video, Lauren was our first call to choreograph and put together the dancers. She absolutely crushed this video! The passion and heart she brings to everything she’s involved in is special and I’m so glad she was part of creating this video. And now I have a few new moves to bust out when it’s time to cut a rug,” Tyler said in a press release.
Hubbard will be bringing his new dance moves on tour with Keith Urban and special guest Ingrid Andress on The Speed Of Now World Tour this fall. Check out those tour dates below.
