Tyra Madison Raises the Standard With Sassy Country Standout “There’s The Bar”
Tyra Madison will take the drink. The tired pickup line? That’s another story.
On “There’s The Bar,” the rising country vocal powerhouse serves up sass with a dash of early Carrie Underwood attitude, turning a familiar barroom encounter into a sharp declaration of self-worth. There’s flirtation here, but Madison makes the terms clear: buying a round doesn’t buy you a chance.
The song’s smartest move is its title. “There’s the bar” becomes both a direction and a standard, a place to send someone looking for an easy hookup, and a reminder that Madison has expectations he’ll need to meet. That double meaning gives the chorus its bite, turning a dismissal into a hook with plenty of personality.
What makes the writing work is that its confidence comes with perspective. Madison isn’t demanding a mansion or some picture-perfect romance. She’s waiting for somebody real. That distinction gives the song more substance than a string of clever brush-offs; underneath the attitude is a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t interested in negotiating it away.
The bridge puts that message on full display: “I know that I’m top shelf / And if you can’t reach it / Go and find someone else.” It’s the song’s defining moment, distilling its entire premise into a few lines practically begging to become somebody’s next Instagram caption.
There’s a familiar spark of early Underwood in that take-no-nonsense stance, but Madison’s approach is playful. She doesn’t need a revenge plot to make her point. A raised eyebrow and a well-placed exit sign do the job.
With “There’s The Bar,” Tyra Madison gives country fans a hook worth singing and an attitude worth borrowing. Sassy, self-assured, and clear about where she stands, she leaves the guy with directions, and keeps her standards intact.
