Let's just say we are a tad bit jealous of those who attended Zach Bryan's The Quittin’ Time tour at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. last night. During his nearly two hour show, Bryan brought out two of the best voices on the scene, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, who make up the CMA nominated duo The War And Treaty, to sing their hit "Hey Driver."
An instant standout off of Bryan's record-breaking 2023 self-titled album, the song serves as a love letter to small towns and the simple pleasures it brings. The song went viral thanks in part to the intoxicating vocals of Michael and Tanya, and we could not be more excited that they finally teamed up to perform it, even if we were not there.
According to a Billboard article from last year, it was the duo's 2023 ACM performance that gave Bryan the chills, and motived Zach to want to exchange numbers. The duo went on to say that it wasn't even two weeks later that Zach sent them "Hey Driver." and the rest is history.
Tanya took to her Twitter to share her humble excitement after the surprise hometown appearance. The duo also took to TikTok to chronicle the event.
"What a night! Michael and I were in my DC (my hometown) for my Pops birthday and decided to surprise our friend Zach Bryan tonight at his show at the Capitol One Arena. His show is otherworldly. If you don’t have your tickets to his Quittin Time Tour do yourself a favor a get yours. Thanks for the Birthday shout out to my Pops and letting us join you tonight 💪🏾❤️🥂 We love you Zach. DC y’all were amazing #heydriver #zachbryan #thewarandtreaty"
