"I wanted to do the song justice. I was trying to figure out how to write a song about whiskey in a way that Anne Wilson would do it. I wanted to do it without offending both sides while also not confronting certain things head-on, so it was just a hard concept to write, but we knew we needed to write it."

We worked on the story behind the song, which started out with me and my mom, and then Lainey and her mom, and remembering visions of when we were kids. Our moms would be praying on their knees, begging God for something, and the power in a praying woman. We started writing about that, and as the idea continued to shape, we realized we had so much in common. We call ourselves the long-lost Wilson sisters."
