For Carlisle Wright, June 7 was already destined to be a memorable day. But thanks to a surprise phone call from one of country music's most beloved legends, it became a moment she'll never forget.

On the 35th anniversary of his own Grand Ole Opry induction, Country Music Hall of Famer Alan Jackson gave his great-niece, rising traditional country artist Carlisle Wright, the invitation of a lifetime: an official invitation to make her Grand Ole Opry debut.
The emotional moment unfolded during a heartfelt phone call between uncle and niece, with Jackson, affectionately known within the family as "Uncle Hat," personally asking Wright to step into the iconic circle on June 28 at the Grand Ole Opry House.
For any country artist, an Opry debut is a career-defining milestone. But having that invitation come directly from Alan Jackson made the moment even more meaningful.
During the call, Jackson reflected on his own Opry debut years ago, recalling how nervous he felt while country music pioneer Roy Acuff watched from the wings. Wright, who has quickly become one of the most promising young voices carrying the torch for traditional country music, assured her uncle she would proudly continue his legacy.
"One of my biggest goals is to play the Grand Ole Opry," Wright shared. "Words can't describe how special it was to have my Uncle Hat invite me to make my Opry debut. Knowing that I will be a part of a classic country music tradition and stand in the same circle as so many of my heroes is an indescribable feeling. Here's to Keepin' It Country."
The invitation comes at a whirlwind moment in Wright's rapidly rising career.
Just days ago, the Belmont University student captured top honors at the 2026 Belmont University Country Showcase. She also made her CMA Fest debut on June 6, performing on the Tractor Supply Spotlight Stage and introducing thousands of fans to her unmistakably traditional country sound.
And that's not all.
Before her Grand Ole Opry debut, Wright will share another major milestone with her famous uncle. On June 27, she'll open for Alan Jackson during his sold-out Last Call: One More For The Road – The Finale concert at Nashville's Nissan Stadium, giving fans a front-row seat to one of country music's most meaningful family moments.
With standout releases like "Honkytonk Talkin'" and "Half My Heroes," Wright has quickly established herself as one of traditional country's most exciting new voices. More new music is expected later this summer, adding even more momentum to a breakthrough year that continues to get bigger by the week.
As Alan Jackson's legendary touring career winds down, it's hard not to notice the symbolic passing of the torch taking place. And later this month, when Carlisle Wright steps into the sacred Grand Ole Opry circle for the very first time, country music fans will be watching closely.
One thing is certain: Uncle Hat couldn't have picked a more fitting artist to help keep country music country.
