Twenty years after Josh Turner made country fans swoon with “Your Man,” Scotty McCreery helped him celebrate the song’s massive new milestone onstage in Wisconsin.
Talk about a full-circle country music moment.
Josh Turner was in for a major surprise Friday night while co-headlining Country In The Burg in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, when Scotty McCreery stepped onstage to honor the country star and the song that helped launch both of their stories.
McCreery presented Turner with a commemorative plaque recognizing “Your Man” as officially certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA, representing more than 5 million units.
But the good news did not stop there. “Would You Go With Me” has now reached 4x Platinum status, while “Me and God” has earned a Gold certification.
A Song That Connected Two Country Stars
The onstage surprise carried some serious sentimental weight.
Fifteen years earlier, Turner surprised McCreery during his 2011 American Idol hometown show, joining the then-rising singer for a performance of “Your Man.”
McCreery had already established himself as a devoted Turner fan, famously auditioning for the competition with the same song.
Friday night’s Wisconsin setting made the reunion even more fitting: McCreery’s original American Idol audition took place just down the road from the festival.
This time, however, it was McCreery’s turn to deliver the surprise.
The singers’ connection to “Your Man” has only grown stronger over the years. Earlier in 2026, McCreery released his retrospective album, 15, featuring a new recording of the country classic alongside Turner.
One unforgettable song. Fifteen years of friendship. And now, a 5x Platinum celebration.
Josh Turner Celebrates 20 Years of Your Man
Originally released in 2006, Your Man became a career-defining album for Turner. Its sultry title track gave the deep-voiced country star his first No. 1 hit, while the album topped Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and earned two Grammy nominations.
Two decades later, the project remains an essential piece of modern country music history.
Turner is marking the album’s 20th anniversary with an expanded edition released through MCA/UMe. The special collection features the fan-favorite bonus track “Hard Headed,” along with live recordings that give listeners another reason to revisit the album that changed everything.
And after 20 years, millions of units and one incredibly meaningful onstage surprise, it is clear that country fans are still more than ready to be Josh Turner’s man, or woman.
