WATCH: Tucker Wetmore Stuns London Crowd with First-Ever ACM Win in Emotional Onstage Surprise
Tucker Wetmore just turned a sold-out London night into a moment he and country music won’t forget anytime soon.
The red-hot rising star scored a massive career milestone overseas, taking home his first-ever ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year, and the way it all went down?
Pure country music magic.
In a move that underscores just how big Wetmore’s moment has become, the Academy of Country Music did something rarely seen: they sent the trophy across the globe to meet him where he was—onstage in London, England. The surprise unfolded during the final night of his three-show, sold-out run at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, turning an already electric evening into something truly unforgettable.
Mid-show, fans were caught off guard when a video message from Thomas Rhett suddenly interrupted the set. But the real emotional punch came seconds later when Wetmore’s mother, Sia, walked onstage ACM trophy in hand to present her son with the honor of a lifetime.
Yeah, cue the chills.
Visibly overwhelmed, Wetmore soaked in the moment with heartfelt gratitude, telling the crowd, “I’m at a loss for words right now for the first time in a long time. I can’t do any of this without you guys. I can’t do any of this without that woman [mom] right there… Y’all made this possible.”
And if there was ever a “we made it” moment, this was it.
The London crowd, already all-in on Wetmore’s meteoric rise, became part of country music history in real time, as the singer-songwriter celebrated not just a win, but a full-circle milestone alongside the fans who helped get him there.
From sold-out shows across the pond to now holding ACM hardware, Tucker Wetmore isn’t just having a moment, he’s cementing himself as one of country music’s most exciting new voices.
And if this night in London proved anything, it’s that his story is only just getting started.
