Chanel West Coast Gets Deeply Personal With New Country Single “Tennessee”

For Chanel West Coast, “Tennessee” is more than just another country song, it’s a reflection of where she is in her life and how she found her way back to her dreams.

Following the success of “Down To The Filter,” the television personality and recording artist is opening up about motherhood, perseverance, and finding her place in country music with her deeply personal new single, “Tennessee.”

The song tells the story of Chanel rediscovering herself after years of navigating life as an independent artist. After nearly two decades of pursuing music, she says she reached a point where she was ready to give up. Becoming a mother, however, sparked a new fire in her and encouraged her to keep chasing the passion she had carried for years.

That journey eventually brought her to Nashville, where she began connecting with writers and producers and found a renewed sense of purpose in her music.

“‘Tennessee’ is about finding my true voice and place in country music and keeping my dreams alive through motherhood,” Chanel shared. “My dreams came alive again through my time working in Nashville and it felt like my music finally found an extra cozy loving home.”

The song itself was born from an unexpected Nashville moment. Chanel had to cancel a writing session after she couldn’t find childcare for her daughter, but later that night, she met singer-songwriter Olivia Faye while Faye was performing at a local restaurant. The two connected, and the following day, they joined Jackson Nance and Shane Bauman to write “Tennessee.”

That unexpected change of plans ultimately became the foundation for a song that feels especially personal to Chanel’s current chapter.
