The Alabama native's blockbuster single "Choosin' Texas" has officially logged an 11th consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new benchmark for women in country music and cementing one of the genre's most remarkable chart runs in decades.

Ella Langley Stands Alone in Country Music History

With its 11th week atop the Hot 100, "Choosin' Texas" is now the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by a woman with a country hit, a record more than four decades in the making, according to a report by Billboard.

The achievement breaks a tie with Debby Boone's 1977 classic "You Light Up My Life," which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and reached No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. For nearly 50 years, Boone's mark stood untouched. Langley has now rewritten that chapter.

It's another reminder that what started as a breakout hit has evolved into one of country music's defining songs of the decade.

A Smash That Refuses to Slow Down

While its Hot 100 dominance continues, "Choosin' Texas" is proving just as unstoppable on country radio and streaming.

According to Billboard, the single now extends its reign to 29 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, an astonishing run that underscores just how deeply the song has connected with listeners. Week after week, the track has continued to outlast new releases and heavy competition, becoming the rare crossover hit that resonates just as strongly inside country music as it does across the broader music landscape.

For Langley, it's the kind of success that transforms an artist from rising star into a generational force.

Joining Rare Company

Country music has produced its share of iconic crossover moments, but very few have reached this level.

Dolly Parton famously wrote "I Will Always Love You," taking two different recordings of the song to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in 1974 and again in 1982. Whitney Houston later turned the ballad into one of pop music's biggest success stories, spending 14 weeks atop the Hot 100 in 1992-93.

Now, Langley has carved out a milestone that's entirely her own.

The Moment Belongs to Ella Langley

Records are made to be broken, but some stand for generations before someone finally comes along and rewrites the story.

That's exactly what Ella Langley has done with "Choosin' Texas." Eleven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 is more than a chart statistic, it's a defining moment for one of country music's brightest new stars.

And with 29 weeks atop Hot Country Songs and no signs of slowing down, there's every reason to believe the history-making run isn't over yet.
