In a year brimming with memorable collaborations, “I Dream You” stands tall as one of the most affecting duets to grace country music in recent memory. Rising country talent Faith Schueler has joined forces with GRAMMY-nominated hitmaker Eric Paslay for a heartbreak ballad that hits like a quiet thunderstorm—gentle on the surface, but packed with emotional weight.

Co-written by Schueler alongside Charles Kelley of Lady A, Paslay himself, and Tom Jordan of Seaforth, “I Dream You” is a deeply intimate exploration of longing and loss. It’s a late-night confession whispered between heartbeats, delivered through harmonies so seamlessly woven they feel like they were born to blend.

From the opening line, “Some reach for the bottle / I reach for the pillow,” the song grabs hold with a twist on the familiar heartbreak trope. Instead of drowning sorrows, the narrator surrenders to sleep—because dreams are the only place the relationship still lives on. The track dances between reality and memory, with Schueler and Paslay trading verses and uniting on a chorus that aches with vulnerability:

I dream you

Find me in the night

Love me like you used to do

I dream you

Holding me tight

Tangled in the midnight blue...

Speaking about the song, Schueler shared, “It's about seeing someone you love and miss in your dreams, and you want to go back to sleep just so you can see them again. One of my favorite lines in the song is "some rea ch for the bottle, I reach for the pillow". Talking about how instead of drinking to forget someone, you want to go to sleep to remember them."

Faith Schueler further cements her place as one of country music’s rising voices, while Paslay reminds listeners why he remains one of the genre’s most emotive storytellers. Together, they’ve created something timeless. “I Dream You” doesn’t just belong on your playlist it belongs in your heart.
