Hayden Coffman Presented Gold Plaque For “Better Off” At Sold-Out Nashville Palace

Hayden Coffman just checked off a major career milestone, and he did it in front of a sold-out hometown-style crowd. The rising country singer-songwriter was officially presented with an RIAA Gold plaque for his breakout single “Better Off” during a packed show at Nashville’s iconic Nashville Palace.

The moment came as a surprise reveal from Chase Matthew, who joined Coffman onstage to help celebrate the achievement, sending the already-electric room into a roar. The Gold certification marks more than 75 million streams for the fan-favorite track, written by Coffman alongside Ethan Escue and Drake Freeman and produced by Grady Saxman.

The timing couldn’t have been better. The Nashville Palace show also doubled as the kickoff date for Coffman’s Take the Lonely Tour, turning the night into a full-circle moment that reflected just how far he’s come as an independent artist. From the stage to the crowd, it was clear this wasn’t just a plaque, it was validation.

Following a buzzworthy showing at CMA Fest 2025, Coffman has continued to prove he’s built for staying power. His 2024 album Love And A Heartbreak showcased his range, blending rowdy, crowd-ready cuts like “Woke Up Drunk (Again)” with emotionally stripped-back songs such as “Fightin’ Words.” It’s that balance, grit, and vulnerability that have helped him connect so deeply with fans.

Over the past few years, Coffman’s momentum has been undeniable. He’s landed on major playlists including Spotify’s Fresh Finds Country and Next From Nashville, Amazon’s Breakthrough Country, and TIDAL’s Country Rising. In 2023, he emerged as one of the fastest-growing unsigned country artists in the country, cracking the Top 3 on Spotify and Top 5 on YouTube, while stacking multiple Top 10 iTunes releases, all independently. Since releasing “Where’s The Whiskey” in late 2022, along with collaborations like “Raised In The Holler” with Chase Matthew and “Give A Country Boy A Call” with Trey Lewis, Coffman has amassed over 254 million total streams and more than 58 million YouTube views.

From streaming milestones to sold-out shows, Hayden Coffman’s rise is no fluke, and “Better Off” going Gold is just the latest proof that he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be.
