Last week, country music superstar, Cody Johnson, shared the Opry Stage with his two daughters, Clara Mae and Cori, to perform “My Rifle, My Pony, and Me” a song from one of the family’s favorite Western movies, Rio Bravo.

CoJo began by singing “The Painter” and “Dirt Cheap,” two hits both from his recent album Leather. Before his last performance at the Grand Ole Opry, he brought out his two girls, 8 year-old Clara Mae and 5 year-old Cori, to the stage with him.

Clearly, the Johnson girls have been passed down their father's singing ability. Their performance received a well-deserved standing ovation! Fans also loved the rendition, giving wholesome comments about how the entire venue went quiet to give the girls their moment and how if they were Brandi, they would sob because of how precious the performance was.

Johnson said that his household watches a lot of western films since he and his wife, Brandi, are cautious about what the girls see on TV nowadays. Since the Johnson's are a family of Western fanatics, the girls immediately chose “My Rifle, My Pony, and Me” when Cody asked the girls if they wanted to come on stage with him.

In 2018, Johnson spoke with Cowboys & Indians about the fulfilling life he and his family have together on their ranch:

“We lead a pretty simple life. We’re homeschooling our two girls. They feed the cows with me and then do their schoolwork. Brandi does the formal schooling. I show them the practical things,” he noted. “I’ve always wanted to have good, purebred, white, long-eared, flesh-hanging-off-of-’em Brahman cows. We’ve got an excellent Hereford bull and this first round of F-1 calves are show quality.”

Crossing our fingers that Clara Mae and Cori will make more appearances in the future!
