Fresh off his Canadian Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Award, modern country troubadour Jade Eagleson offers up a collection of earnestly crafted songs in his brand new album Do It Anyway.

Ryan Nolan

Combining his country sensibilities and contemporary style, Do It Anyway gifts 13 tracks. From barn burners, tender moments to a reimagined One Direction cover, this album has something for every country fan.

To kick things off the Canadian cowboy gifts us a cover that we never knew we needed. Lending his signature drawl to One Direction's 2014 hit Steal My Girl, Jade proves he is a true trailblazer. From the first note, Jade lets fans know that this reconceptualized take is the real deal. Honestly, you don't even feel as if the track is a cover, yet a clever love song destined to have a little more twang.

"We wanted to do a pop cover, but just were not sure how," Jade tells All Country News. "I was leaning towards a Shaina remake, then this song popped up. We were really thrilled when we heard it and knew what we could do with it."

Honing in on his craft and sticking to the stylings he loves, the born hitmaker strikes gold with the the title track Do It Anyway. In just under three minutes, Jade showcases his rural upbringing and can do attitude. The track written by Chase McGill, Matt Jenkins and Ashley Gorley narrates the universal tale of staying true to yourself despite the nay sayers, plus who doesn't love a healthy dose of fiddle. Jade, who grew up on a healthy appetite of George Strait and Brooks & Dunn says that his song had to be his.

"I grew up in a small-town, so small our mail had to be sent to the neighboring small town," Jade laughs. "I was always unapologetically country. I grew up on a farm, its just who I am. But it wasn't necessarily the cool thing back then. When I heard the first lines, I fell in love with it. They told me old school ain't gonna work They told me don't tuck in your shirt. The whole idea of the song just really appealed to me."

The previously released Neon Dreamin' is also feaured on the new project. The flawless barn burner will transport any listener to their favorite hole in the wall full of buzzing neon. From the jump the tune I packed with an infectious beat, backed by classic harmonies and Jade’s crooning lead vocal, this new single is a swift return to to the traditional Country sound.

Determined to bring his story forward style of country to life, our favorite off the album A Lot in A Small Town is a career maker for the Canadian. Personifying all the qualities that make small towns special, the tender fiddle driven track celebrates rural simplicities. From the Friday night lights, one room churches to pride in your last name, Jade's smokey twang captures small town values to a tee.

Finding a balance between old school traditionalism with modern storylines, Jade Eagleson excels. Determined to showcase his values, through story and sound, the rising talent solidifies himself as one of the biggest acts to watch in 2023. Steadfast in creating stories that fans can attach themselves to, Do It Anyway invites listeners to find what it is about country music that makes them feel special.
