Jelly Roll, whose deeply personal lyrics and soulful sound have garnered him a loyal fanbase, explained the concept behind the deluxe edition, tying it to the Japanese art of kintsugi—a practice that emphasizes repairing broken pottery with gold, creating something even more beautiful in its imperfection. "I’d like you all to meet Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces), the deluxe that adds 5 more songs. The idea behind this artwork comes from a Japanese practice called kintsugi. The idea is that if something breaks, and it’s worth fixing, you fix it by filling in the cracks with gold. I honestly don’t

think anything personifies this record better," Jelly Roll shared with fans on social media.

The additional songs on Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces) bring together an impressive lineup of featured artists. The standout collaborations include:

  1. “Take A Bow” (feat. Halsey) – Written by an all-star team including Jason DeFord (Jelly Roll), Halsey, Zach Crowell, Hillary Lindsey, Jacob Hackworth, and Blake Pendergrass, this track blends Jelly Roll’s signature grit with Halsey’s ethereal vocals.

  2. “Don’t Want To” (feat. Keith Urban) – Country superstar Keith Urban joins Jelly Roll on this heartfelt track, written by Jason DeFord, Joe Reeves, Ilsey Juber, Geoff Warburton, and Joe Fox. The song’s poignant lyrics tap into themes of love, regret, and moving forward.

  3. “Devil Down” (feat. ERNEST) – Written by Jelly Roll, Taylor Phillips, Ben Johnson, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jacob Hackworth, and Brock Berryhill, this track brings a moody, introspective vibe, with ERNEST’s smooth vocals adding a powerful contrast to Jelly Roll’s raw emotion.

  4. “Really Gone” (feat. Russ) – This emotionally charged track, written by Jelly Roll, Ryan Vojtesak, John Byron, Rocky Block, Blake Pendergrass, and Russell Vitale (Russ), dives deep into themes of loss and heartbreak, with Russ delivering a stirring performance alongside Jelly Roll.

  5. “Past Yesterday” (feat. Skylar Grey) – Written by Jason DeFord, Holly Hafermann (Skylar Grey), Blake Pendergrass, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Jesse Frasure, this haunting ballad sees Grey’s haunting vocals perfectly complementing Jelly Roll’s vulnerable storytelling.

  6. “Lonely Road” (feat. mgk) – Written by Nick Long, Bill Danoff, Brandon Allen, Colson Baker (mgk), John Denver, Mary Danoff, Steve Basil, Taffy Nivert Danoff, and Travis Barker, this track brings a rock edge to the album, with Jelly Roll and mgk delivering a powerful duet.

Jelly Roll’s decision to release Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces) is a testament to his ever-evolving artistry and dedication to his fans. The deluxe edition’s themes of resilience, repair, and renewal are masterfully conveyed through both the lyrics and collaborations, with each song serving as a powerful reminder of the beauty in imperfection.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to Jelly Roll’s music, Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces) offers something for everyone, from introspective ballads to high-energy collaborations.
