The gold buckle came down to the final outs Sunday afternoon in Fort Worth, and when the dust finally settled inside a roaring Dickies Arena, John Crimber stood alone at the top of the PBR world.

In front of a sold-out crowd at the 2026 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast, the 20-year-old Texas phenom capped off a dramatic comeback to officially claim his first PBR World Championship.
And the atmosphere? Absolutely electric.
Fans were on their feet nearly all afternoon as the World Championship race tightened with every ride. You could feel the tension in the arena as Crimber fought to keep his title hopes alive.
By the end of the night, he had turned pressure into history.
From Disaster To Dominance
Just days earlier, things looked bleak for Crimber.
After going 0-for-4 during the opening weekend at Cowtown Coliseum and starting the
Finals 0-for-5 overall, critics started to pile on. The momentum in the title race appeared to be shifting toward Australia’s Brady Fielder.
But Crimber never folded.
Friday night became the turning point when the Decatur, Texas cowboy finally broke through with an 89.4-point ride aboard July. The ride sparked life back into his Finals run and completely changed the energy surrounding him.
One ride quickly became two.
Then three.
And suddenly, the World Championship was back within reach.
Championship Sunday Changed Everything
The defining moment came during Round 8.
Needing a huge score just to advance into the Championship Round, Crimber climbed aboard What’s Poppin and delivered under pressure in a massive way. His 91.35-point ride instantly sent the crowd into a frenzy and punched his ticket into the final round of the season.
The roar inside Dickies Arena was deafening.
Then came the ride everyone will remember.
With the gold buckle hanging in the balance, Crimber drew Tigger for the Championship Round while Brady Fielder prepared for his final attempt to steal the title away.
Crimber answered with the ride of his life.
The Texas star covered Tigger for a monster 92.9-point score before throwing his arms into the air as the realization started to sink in.
John Crimber was officially a World Champion.
An Emotional Victory For Family
Following the win, emotions poured out immediately.
“This is what I’ve dreamed of since I was a little kid playing in the living room pretending I was a bull rider,” Crimber said during the Paramount+ broadcast.
But the moment became even more emotional when he dedicated the title to his father.
“This world title, it’s not just for myself. This is for my dad, too. He’s the one who brought me here and made me who I am.”
It was impossible not to feel the emotion throughout the arena as fellow riders celebrated around him.
This wasn’t just another championship moment.
It felt like the beginning of a brand-new era in professional bull riding.
Brady Fielder Battled Until The End
While Crimber ultimately walked away with the gold buckle, Brady Fielder deserves enormous credit for pushing the title race to the very last round.
The Australian star kept the pressure on throughout the Finals and entered Championship Sunday still mathematically alive for the World Championship.
Fielder ultimately finished fourth in the World Finals standings after a re-ride situation in the final round kept him from gaining enough ground to catch Crimber.
Still, the battle between Crimber and Fielder became one of the most dramatic world title races PBR fans have seen in years.
Hudson Bolton Wins The World Finals Event Title
Another rider who turned heads all week long was Hudson Bolton.
The Tennessee cowboy went an impressive 7-for-9 across the nine-round event to secure the 2026 World Finals event championship and the accompanying $500,000 bonus.
Bolton looked nearly unstoppable for much of the week and officially established himself as one of the brightest young stars in the sport.
Ransom Steals The Spotlight In The Bull Pen
The race for YETI World Champion Bull came down to the absolute wire as well.
Ransom narrowly edged Pegasus by just .01 points to claim the 2026 YETI PBR World Champion Bull title in one of the closest finishes imaginable.
Every time Ransom burst from the chute this week, fans held their breath.
The powerful bovine athlete also earned “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Finals honors after delivering several unforgettable performances throughout the event.
Eduardo Aparecido Delivers One Of The Greatest Rides Ever
One of the loudest moments of the entire week came courtesy of veteran rider Eduardo Aparecido.
During Round 5, Aparecido conquered Ransom for a jaw-dropping 96.1-point ride, the third-highest score ever recorded at a PBR World Finals event and one of the highest scores in league history.
The moment instantly became one of the defining highlights of the 2026 Finals.
The Numbers Behind Crimber’s Championship Season
Crimber’s breakout campaign was nothing short of dominant.
32-for-58 riding record
55.17% ride percentage
Tour-best eight round wins
Two event victories
More than $1.37 million earned
$1 million World Champion bonus
Once Crimber reclaimed the No. 1 ranking back in March, he never let go.
And fittingly, his championship moment happened in his home state of Texas.
From 0-For-5 To World Champion
By the time confetti rained down inside Dickies Arena, the 2026 PBR World Finals had delivered everything fans could ask for, pressure, heartbreak, redemption, chaos, and unforgettable rides.
But in the end, this week belonged to John Crimber.
From 0-for-5… to World Champion.
That’s bull riding.
