Jordan Davis Is Letting Fans Take Over The Setlist At Red Bull Jukebox Texas {EXCLUSIVE}

Jordan Davis is handing over the reins to the fans this summer, and honestly, he’s all in on the chaos.

The multi-platinum country star is set to headline the Texas debut of Red Bull Jukebox on August 20, 2026, at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, turning a normal concert into a completely fan-controlled experience. Ahead of the highly anticipated event, Davis sat down exclusively with All Country News to chat about the unique opportunity and why he immediately knew he wanted to be part of it.

For those unfamiliar, Red Bull Jukebox is a live concert event where fans literally shape the show in real time. Before the concert, fans vote online on everything from song selections and covers to special guests and performance styles. Then during the show, the audience continues making live decisions using interactive light-up wristbands that allow them to cast “red” or “blue” votes throughout the night. The result is a completely immersive concert experience where the audience becomes part of the show itself.

And for Davis, that unpredictability was exactly what made the opportunity impossible to pass up.

Why Jordan Davis Said “Yes” Immediately

For Davis, the concept behind Red Bull Jukebox immediately stood out because it solves one of the biggest debates artists have before every show: building the perfect setlist.

“It just seemed like something I’ve never heard of before. The entire kind of premise of the show is something that we, you know, in rehearsals or making setlists, kind of struggle with. It’s like, ‘Does the fan want to hear this song? Would they rather hear this song?’ And then Red Bull was able to come up with the genius idea of just letting them pick. So when I heard that was going to be the layout of the show, I was all in for it. And then obviously being a fan of the brand and everything Red Bull has done, it just felt like a perfect match.”

The “Buy Dirt” singer admitted joining the event felt like a complete “no-brainer,” especially because the format allows him to connect with fans in an entirely new way.

Jordan Davis Is Ready For The Covers…Mostly

One major part of the Red Bull Jukebox experience includes fans potentially voting for cover songs, something Davis says he’s genuinely excited about.

“We still to this day try to throw covers into the live shows and kind of mix them in. So whenever they brought up that we could have a category where fans pick a cover they want to hear from us, to be honest, it makes my job a whole lot easier because then they tell me what I need to learn and we’re able to go make it happen. That’s honestly one of my favorite things I’m looking forward to doing with this, getting into the cover side of it.”

But there is one possible fan selection that could make things a little uncomfortable.

As a proud LSU fan and Louisiana native, Davis joked that Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” would be a tough one to pull off.

“Being an LSU fan and from Louisiana, ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ stings a little bit. I would do it if they told me to. I would put my LSU fandom aside to do it, but I’ve watched Alabama whoop us too many times for me to get up and sing that one.”

On the flip side, there’s one Southern anthem he’d gladly welcome into the setlist.

“Oh, I’m all in on that. I am 100% in on ‘Callin’ Baton Rouge.’”

Why Texas Feels Like The Perfect Fit

While Red Bull Jukebox previously made waves in Nashville, bringing the experience to Texas feels especially meaningful for Davis.

The Louisiana-born singer has long been influenced by Texas country music and still has plenty of family spread across the Lone Star State.

“For me, I have a ton of family that still lives in Texas, my mom, my sister, they’re all there. Growing up so close to it in Louisiana, I was a big fan of Texas country and still am. Some of my first shows were Randy Rogers and Pat Green, so being able to kind of dip into that is going to be really cool. Texas holds a special place in my heart. My mom always jokes that she wasn’t born in Texas, but she got there as fast as she could.”

With Dallas serving as the backdrop for the first-ever Texas edition, the event promises a night rooted in storytelling, fan connection, and the spirit of Red Dirt country music.

A New Kind Of Pressure

Even for a seasoned touring artist like Davis, handing over creative control to the audience adds a whole new layer of unpredictability.

“It kind of gets you a little nervous to see what they want to hear and the songs they want to know. It adds a little pressure for us to go out and perform, but it’s going to be fun. I think it’s a challenge that we’re excited to take on and we’re going to try to make it sound as best we can.”

And if Davis’ kids somehow ended up controlling the voting? Fans should probably expect a lot less Jordan Davis and a whole lot more Luke Combs.

“That would be all Luke Combs songs, if I’m being honest. They’re major Luke Combs fans. ‘Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma’ would definitely make the list, and ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ too. And it’s even tougher because Luke’s a buddy. It stings a little when your kids tell you to turn your music off and play Luke Combs instead.”
