Morgan Wallen’s record-breaking “I’m The Problem Tour” ignited in grand fashion over the weekend with two sold-out nights at Houston’s NRG Stadium, marking the beginning of a 20-stop stadium run in 2025. In typical Wallen fashion, the kickoff wasn’t just about the music, it was a full-scale cultural moment complete with surprise appearances, heartfelt tributes, and a strong nod to the city that hosted it all.

On night one, Wallen welcomed NFL Hall of Famer Andre Johnson and iconic Houston businessman Mattress Mack to join him for his high-energy walkout moment, which began with the rowdy “Broadway Girls” and seamlessly shifted into the brooding “Interlude” from his chart-dominating new album I’m The Problem. The energy surged even higher on night two when rapper Drake and baseball legend Roger Clemens took part in the same moment, uniting fans from across genres and generations.
The tour’s namesake album, I’m The Problem, has already claimed five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and launched Wallen to yet another career peak, including a record-breaking 37 simultaneous entries on the Billboard Hot 100 upon release. His setlist reflected that dominance, offering a blend of new songs and legacy hits that spanned his discography. Notably, half of each night’s 25-song set came from I’m The Problem, reaffirming Wallen’s status as both a streaming juggernaut and an album artist.
In a slight shake-up from previous tours, Wallen used the moment where he typically performed the title track to introduce something more intimate: “I Got Better,” which officially hits country radio on June 23. “This is one of my most personal songs,” he said, “and it means the most to me right now.”
True to his roots, Wallen shifted to the B-stage later in the show for an acoustic stretch, performing emotionally-charged staples like “Cover Me Up,” “I’m A Little Crazy,” and “Sand In My Boots.” The stripped-down moment wasn’t just for show, it was a sincere effort to connect with fans, no matter how massive the venue.
Before returning to the main stage, Wallen took a moment to spotlight his band, flashing their names and hometowns across the screens, a nod to the crew that’s helped power his meteoric rise. From drummer Mark “Taco” Annino to pedal steel player Tony Aichele, every member received their due.
For his encore, Wallen emerged in a Nolan Ryan Astros jersey one final tribute to Houston before launching into megahits “Last Night,” “I Had Some Help,” and his breakout single “The Way I Talk.” He stuck around to sign autographs as fans cheered, a quiet gesture of gratitude that capped off a larger-than-life night.
Throughout the tour, Wallen’s ‘2025 Tour Give Back’ initiative is also making its mark. Through his Morgan Wallen Foundation, he’s donating $3 from every ticket sold to youth music and sports programs. In Houston, that included new musical instruments for James Madison High School and S.P. Waltrip High School.
The tour continues this summer with stops in Madison, Miami, Seattle, Santa Clara, and Toronto, including history-making back-to-back nights at Camp Randall Stadium, the first time an artist has ever done so at that venue. A rotating cast of high-profile openers will join Wallen across different dates, including Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Koe Wetzel, with support from rising acts like Gavin Adcock, Corey Kent, Ella Langley, and Anne Wilson.
Morgan Wallen’s trajectory is a testament to fan loyalty, a relentless work ethic, and an artist willing to grow in public. If Houston was any indication, I’m The Problem is far from an apology, t’s a declaration of presence.
