Country music is officially going global in a way it never has before. Buckle up, y’all, the Grand Ole Opry is packing its bags and heading across the Atlantic for a once-in-a-century celebration.
According to a press release, the iconic Grand Ole Opry, the longest-running radio broadcast in U.S. history will celebrate its 100th year with a landmark live international show at none other than London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall on Friday, September 26, 2025. For the first time ever, the Opry is leaving its Nashville home for a full-fledged live broadcast from one of the world’s most hallowed music venues.
The evening promises to be nothing short of unforgettable, featuring a star-studded cast of country heavy-hitters. Opry members Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Darius Rucker, and Marty Stuart are set to take the stage in what’s shaping up to be a transatlantic night of honky-tonk history. And that's just the beginning, the lineup will also include special guest artists from the UK, who will be announced later this year.
Of the historic moment, Grand Ole Opry member and multi-time Diamond-certified superstar Darius Rucker said, “Being a member of the Grand Ole Opry is a great honor; it’s always felt like the Opry was my home away from home. To have the opportunity to bring such a big part of my musical roots to Royal Albert Hall is a full-circle moment for me while I work on a project with so many talented songwriters and producers based in London. I can’t think of a better way to honor the Opry’s global impact on country music as we share its magic with a new generation of fans.”
Hosted by BBC Radio 2’s Vernon Kay and WSM Radio/Grand Ole Opry personality Kelly Sutton, the show will be broadcast live, giving fans on both sides of the pond a front-row seat to this extraordinary event. U.S. listeners can tune in via WSM Radio and Opry.com, while UK-based fans can catch a full replay on BBC Radio 2 at a later date.
According to the press release, each artist will perform two to four songs, a signature Opry tradition. Fans can expect a mix of contemporary country bangers and classic Nashville gold, with a few surprise collaborations sprinkled in. Think of it as a greatest hits mixtape come to life, delivered with the storytelling soul and genre-spanning spirit that defines the Opry legacy.
Tickets for this bucket-list-worthy night go on sale Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. BST / 4 a.m. CDT via royalalberthall.com, and they’re expected to go fast.
Born on the airwaves in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry has spent a century shaping country music history, launching the careers of legends like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and George Jones, while continuing to shine a spotlight on today’s stars. Being invited to join the Opry isn’t just about chart success; it’s a rite of passage that honors commitment to country music’s past, present, and future.
And now, for one spectacular night, that future includes a London stage.
So whether you’re a Nashville native or a British country convert, this is one date you’ll want circled in red on the calendar. History’s being made and it’s sounding a lot like country music.
