Stephen Wilson Jr. is not slowing down. Fresh off a European stretch of sold-out shows and in the midst of supporting country heavy-hitters HARDY and Eric Church, the Indiana-born, Nashville-rooted powerhouse has announced an expanded fall run of his critically acclaimed søn of dad tour. The headlining trek includes a slew of new cities and a career-defining night at Nashville’s hallowed Ryman Auditorium on November 23.
For an artist who’s quickly carved out a lane blending raw lyrical vulnerability with gritty rock-infused country, this tour marks a victory lap. The søn of dad tour has already sold out major venues overseas and stateside, and Wilson Jr.’s fall dates only raise the stakes. Stops include The Warfield in San Francisco, The Wiltern in Los Angeles, McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, and his largest-ever hometown show at the Ryman, a venue synonymous with country music royalty.
Tickets for the fall leg go on sale this Friday, June 13 at 10 a.m. local time, with artist presale starting Tuesday, June 10. Given the momentum, these shows are expected to move quickly.
The fall tour is just one chapter in what's already shaping up to be a breakout year for Wilson Jr. After wrapping a European leg of sold-out performances, he returned stateside to join HARDY on the JIM BOB WORLD TOUR. In July, he’ll share the stage with Eric Church for three nights at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and in late July, he’ll make his debut at the storied Newport Folk Festival a bucket-list moment for any songwriter with something to say.
Wilson Jr.’s rise is steeped in substance. With a scientist’s brain and a poet’s heart, he writes songs that bleed and fans are responding. From smoky clubs in Amsterdam to outdoor amphitheaters in America’s heartland, the crowds are growing, and the message is resonating.
As the fall søn of dad dates hit the calendar, it’s clear Stephen Wilson Jr. is no longer just a name to watch. He’s an artist in full command of his narrative, taking his genre-defying sound from coast to coast and leaving his mark on every stage he touches.
